The Museum of Flight

May 2017 is the first time me and my wife managed to travel to Seattle, Washington and immediately liked the place. For me, it was the weather and the mountains that immediately reminded me of back where I am from and spent my 19 years of life. We thought eventually we’d move to Seattle which years later in 2024 we finally were able to and we plan to live here for some time.
Early may of 2017, we had just done a move from Missouri to Austin which we drove all the way. I had just finished 4 years of school in Kirksville MO and my wife was working in Chicago but decided it was time to move in together to Austin. My work was starting in June so we wanted to do a trip together before work starts. This particular journey of ours took us to some popular cities of west coast namely Seattle, Portland and San Francisco and around. I thank my wife for planning the whole route and organizing and navigating us to the west coast on our first big adventure together.
On the day of our trip we flew from Austin International Airport to Seattle on a direct short flight of about 4hrs. We got to see a nice view of Mt Rainier rising above the clouds in a distance. After landing, we stopped by an airport restaurant for food and ate while sitting next to the big glass windows facing airplanes. Airport vibes are always nice, you can endlessly wonder where people are coming and going to with every passing person. It is also nice to be able to be on ground and able to see far especially after sitting on a big claustrophobic metal can for hours at a time.
During May Seattle looked pretty nice, cloudy and gloomy a bit but still felt cold fresh air. We took a train outside eventually making our way to our first destination, The Flight Museum. This museum was not too far from SeaTac Airport, and is easily accessible via public transport in Seattle. Flight museum keeps a variety of different airplanes and other aircrafts that has been built over generations for different purposes. We were curious back then on how things work and just the gigantic scale of things humans have built ranging from helicopters to Boeing Dreamliners to space shuttle. We were able to go inside some of the big planes like Dreamliners and I believe it was British Airways Concorde. We spent a couple hours walking through this massive museum occasionally getting intrigued but also sleep deprived. Looking at the space shuttle was pretty interesting as it managed to go outside of space and come back and somehow managed to got into this museum for everyone to see.
